    Ruth joined the ECI in March 2011. She is a researcher with an interdisciplinary background in sustainable development issues. She has published on a range of issues and has a MSc from SOAS in Development Economics, and a BA in development studies from the University of East Anglia.   

     

    Ruth has previously worked, among other things, as an independent consultant conducting research and evaluations on, and designing participatory monitoring systems for, community and voluntary organisation initiatives; as a research and policy adviser at Oxfam GB;  a research and advocacy coordinator in Colombia;  and as a socio-economist at the Intermediate Technology Development Group. She has practical experience of low carbon community projects and social enterprises, and is a co-founder and Chair of Low Carbon West Oxford, an award winning community initiative to tackle climate change.
